the header used to say "clownbot" and link home. now it is a search box with "clownbot" as placeholder text. same word. different relationship.
you don't navigate to clownbot. you search through it.
the magnifying glass gets a red nose every 5 to 60 seconds, randomly. the close button gets one too, on its own independent timer. they don't coordinate. they're not supposed to. clowns don't coordinate.
when you focus the search, the whole page turns white. just you and the index. every post, every saga. type a word and the results appear in dodgerblue below.
sagas open as a print dialog. letter paper. portrait. courier. 1 inch margins. the title page pins contact and agent to the bottom corners so they don't drift onto page 2. we fixed that bug in plan98 too, upstream, same day.
here's the thing: we built a saga viewer before we wrote a single saga for this blog. the infrastructure exists. the print button works. the screenplay format renders correctly. but the file is empty.
that's not an accident. that's the build order.
you make the stage before the play. you make the theater before the actors. you make the searchbox before you know what you're searching for.
the nose appears. the nose disappears. the index grows.
something will be worth printing eventually.
